How To View Snapshots On Blink Camera

The Blink XT2 cameras are great - a piffling manner to keep an centre on a loved one (in my case an aged parent) without wires or complex DIY hassle. Merely set a camera or two up on your Wifi and y'all tin keep an eye on them from across the world.

And all is fine, generally, I tap to take a photograph or video if my dad isn't answering the phone, to check where he is and whether he's OK. But recently I had the strangest error: 'Thumbnail failed' on ane of the cameras and it persisted for days.

Now, I live 150 miles away and and then Blink's suggestion of 'take the batteries out and put them in again, to reboot the camera' wasn't much utilise!

Surely, I thought, there has to be A way I tin can reboot, or at least nudge the remote photographic camera into behaving?

Information technology turns out there is. Tap on the settings slider icon above the offending camera and then swipe downward to the Status section. 'Last updated' should be a while ago, the last time you took a successful photo. Happily, at that place'southward an 'Update' button, and then tap that.

In my example, and hopefully yours, this forced update (getting battery, temperature, and so on) works. And, even better, you should detect that yous can at present take a snapshot photo successfully again!
